Killswitch Engage
KSE are an American metalcore band, formed in Massachusetts (part of the NWOAHM movement). KSE were an amalgamation of Overcast and Aftershock. Overcast has since reformed and many of the band members are currently persuing alternative projects (Overcast, Death Ray Vision and Times of Grace). The current Killswitch Engage lineup consists of vocalist Howard Jones, bassist Mike D’Antonio, guitarists Joel Stroetzel and Adam Dutkiewicz, and drummer Justin Foley. On a recent tour Jesse had taken over vocal duties for Howard due to personal issues. In total the band has released five studio albums and one DVD.
Killswitch Engage have many claims to fame and were at a time leaders in the metalcore scene, with Alive or Just Breathing listed as an incredibly influencial album in the metalcore arena. The End Of Heartache was when KSE really shot to fame, certified gold and Grammy nominated. Touring the world and performing at many leading metal festivals including Wacken Open Air, Reading and Leeds Festivals, Ozzfest, Download Festival, Rock on the Range, Rock Am Ring, Mayhem Festival, Pointfest, and the Australian Soundwave Festival.
Rumours are currently spreading that KSE are writing their 6th album which is due for a late 2011 release. This had been confirmed by Mike D although details regarding it are sketchy at best and with all the side projects other members are partaking in we probably won’t see a release for some time.
